May 2018 - The warm weather is finally here!

After a very cold April, May finally came with some much needed warm weather!

We had a great time getting outdoors and pulling the girls spring/summer clothes out of storage. Becca has quite the wardrobe thanks to some very generous friends of ours (hand-me-downs from their two girls!).

We ventured to Florida in early May (separate post) but then made lots of family memories celebrating the girls baptisms with family, going on a family adventure over Memorial Day weekend and just enjoying getting outdoors!

Here's all the pics, including lots of the girls at school.

Enjoying eating with the "big kids" at school. She's loving all of the foods and is a great eater!

I couldn't believe how grown up she looks in this picture!

Baby friends!

After a very long winter the babies finally get to get outside for some fresh air! We discovered after this day that Becca is pretty sensitive to most sunscreen and she got her first sun burn on her neck :(

Awesome teachers, Miss Kari and Miss Regina!

Crawling through the tunnel and sticking out her tongue with her friend Eloise

She loves playing with the scarves! (And looks like Grandma GG here, I think :))

Such a happy girl!

Poor Brinners came down with a virus this month

Covering her neck well this time!

Night before we went to Florida this one started running a fever. It's always something with kids!
Mother's day photo booth at church. Matt made it an awesome Mother's day for me. Breakfast in bed, followed by cupcakes after church! We had just gotten home from Florida the night before and look a bit rough here, lol! That's what a "vacation" with two littles will do to you. Ha!

Sisterly love

Becca's "class" photo

Ahead of the royal wedding Brinley studied England in travel tots. She's the queen!

We love our friends at school :)

Birthday muffins in Becca's class. How cute are these babies in birthday hats?!?

Seriously, so stinkin cute!

She loves to suck on the ducks heads in the bath, lol!

All of our peeps at the baptism. We took up a whole row!
Brinley had already been name dedicated at our old church but at Hosanna! they do infant and adult (immersion) baptisms so we were delighted to get both girls baptized. Matt and I had to take a class and then they had a very personal little ceremony after church. It was really special!

Uncle James, aka "the Godfather" even got to participate by putting oil on the girls heads in the sign of the cross. Brinley said this was her favorite part. She adores her Uncle James :)

We have the absolute best family and I love how everyone came out to support our girls. We are so blessed!

Uncle James kept making Becca cry. I think she was scared of the beard! I'm sure she still loves you, Uncle James :)

The whole crew!
Becca going for a hair grab!

Love Bruce and Deb, so glad they could come too!
May God bless and keep our sweet Brinley and Becca. He's got BIG plans for you, ladies!
Sister love :)

Sometimes a little too much for Miss Becca!
The day after the baptism Matt had to continue his dive training but the girls and I got outside for a couple of hours and it was an absolutely PERFECT day! 75 degrees, sunny and NO bugs! We sat under a tree at the park and had a snack, flew a kite and just slowed down. It will be a moment I will never forget.
There's our kite, way up there! We let all of the string out :)
Creative creations out of recyclables at school. This one was some sort of weapon, I think... B, you're a very creative little girl!

Big girl sitting in the chair!

She loves the warm weather and lots of playtime! Mommy doesn't love the rocks so much as the dust gets everywhere but oh well, what are summers for!

Snack time!

Brinley's friend Ali

Somedays I bring the girls into school a bit late (when I work from home) and although it's hard for me to get everyone out of the house, we sometimes get to enjoy sweet moments like this one which make it all worth it. This is a bit of a chaotic and crazy season that we are in. Someone always seems to need something. Someone is always sick. Mom and Dad are often tired and stressed, but it's oh so beautiful and wonderful as well. It's incredible to watch Brinley mature and understand more about the world and begin to find her own way. Becca is growing so fast and discovering new things everyday. Matt and I are in awe of these beautiful girls that God has blessed us with. We watch them smile at one another and our hearts melt.
Sweet moments like these remind us that "happiness is not an end-state goal, but a state of mind that's found when we find beauty, joy and gratefulness amidst the craziness, busyness and messiness of life." (quote by me ;))

Bragging on my husband a bit, look how nice this house and yard looks! He takes great pride in the landscaping and we are very grateful for his care. It looks awesome, honey!

Those smiles! She was voted "prettiest eyes" in the baby yearbook for her class :)

We love to go on family adventure days when we are home on the weekends and this year we decided to go to Taylor's Falls over Memorial Day weekend. We started the day at the sculpture garden which was a super neat place with some very unique art. Brinley had a blast running all around. We then went on an alpine coaster and ended the day with a boat ride. Poor Becca had an ear infection and was running a fever for most of the day but she was a trooper snuggling in the carrier with mama.

On a very cool Dr. Suess looking play structure

Super neat imaginative place

My loves :)

The Brinley girl!

Star of the show!

Smiley and happy, despite her sickies

They had an exhibit that was a roof right off the ground. It was super steep but not too high up. Brinley and I loved running up and down it!

On the boat ride

Becca was getting sick and tired by the end, poor girl :(

My girls

Family!

Those smiles!
