Second Quarter Update for Baby Ri!

Super happy 5 month pics in Florida!!

Starting to discover the sticker, what a big boy!

Holy moly, how are you 6 months already???? Little guy, you are not so little anymore, and you are just growing SO fast! I find myself continuously in awe of you and so so grateful for our little BOY! You have stolen my heart sweet boy and I am so blessed to be your mama!

You are still such a happy baby and we are always commenting what a good boy you are. You are really happy to be around people, you still love being held and you laugh and smile whenever people are dancing or singing around you. You still wear double the sizes and at 6 months are in 9-12 month clothes!

I had to go dairy free for 6 weeks or so to help you with your spitting up but you got over that pretty quick and now I can have some dairy again, just not a ton.

You are quite the little traveler as you've been on a plane twice to Florida. Once at the end of January and then for 3 weeks with Mommy and Becca in March.

Here are some highlights from 4 months:

- You rolled! You surprised us and rolled tummy to back on Daddy's birthday. And then the very next day, you rolled from back to tummy on 2/24. After you rolled for the first time you kind of cooled it a bit and didn't roll much for the next month or so. But now you are rolling all the time!

- You really started grabbing things more at 4 months.

- We got you on a great napping schedule but have struggled getting you to sleep through the night. You are just a hungry little guy!

- At 5 months we noticed just how very curious you are! Nana thinks you are going to be a little engineer since you ripped up a piece of paper nd tried to put it back together again. You like to try and figure out how things work.

- You are also highly entertained by toys!

- You roll like it's not big deal at 5 months and scoot and move yourself around to grab the toys that you want.

- You absolutely love to watch your sisters dance and wave your arms and kick your legs to join in!

- You babbled a ton at 5 months and love to blow raspberries. You've also discovered your tongue this month and curl it around and stick it out all the time!

- Lots of drool but still no teeth!

- Sleeping through the night is still a struggle but you go down for naps like a champ! You prefer to fall asleep on your own and not be held. But I can rock you to sleep if I'm really determined.

- At 6 months we decided to try some food for the first time. We are going to go with baby-led weaning and giving you big chunks of food to try and gum. You have tried bananas, avocado, strawberry and broccoli. So far you have just enjoyed mashing it up and throwing it on the floor and haven't actually eaten anything yet, ha! You always grab at our food though so I'm surprised that you haven't really gotten into eating yet, but I'm sure soon!

- You started going to daycare at Ms. Summer's house this week when Mommy went back to work. At first you were really confused and didn't really eat or nap, but after the first day you got a bit more used to it. You enjoy playing with her, knocking over blocks and even took a 2.5 hour nap yesterday! She says you're such a happy boy and absolutely adores you! It does mommy's heart good to know you are so loved! In a couple of weeks Grandma Ann will watch you two days a week. She's really looking forward to it!

Here are your stats:

April 13 - Just shy of 6 months, you weighed 18 lbs 12 oz (74th percentile), 28 inches long (95th percentile) and your head is 18.25 inches (99th percentile).

You have also been in size 4 diapers for awhile now. But still manage to pee through outfits! Stinker!

Your big sisters, especially Brinley, absolutely adore you! It is so fun to see her love on you and she's such a big helper! Becca loves you so much too but doesn't quite get that you don't mean to hurt her when you grab her hair, lol.

We all love you so much, Rian. You are the perfect addition to our family. Buddy is definitely your main nickname, in fact we call you that more than Rian most days. You are for sure my little buddy and although it's been hard going back to work and not having you with me all the time, I'm so grateful for these past 6 months and I know that no matter what, you will always be my little Buddy!
