Trip to Canada

During the crazy stress of trying to sell our house, and plan to move, we decided to keep our plans to go up to Canada for a long weekend and just get away from it all.

It was kind of a last minute decision as we were pretty overwhelmed with everything and we just didn't know if we had it in us to pack up and go. But we woke up Saturday morning and we were like the heck with it, let's just do it! Yes, it will be stressful to pack and travel 7 hours in the car with two kids, but it will be worth it when we get there.

Boy were we glad we did! As the miles between us and home grew, the more we began to relax. And when we stopped at our hotel in International Falls for the night, we knew this was a great decision.

I will always look back on this trip and remember it as the time that Becca went from a baby to a toddler. She was almost 13 months old and I just feel that all of those days that we got to spend with her that week gave us a chance to watch her grow up before our eyes.

Becca became a toddler that weekend!
- wore shoes and took a “walk” for the first time. We were at a test area an hour or so away from international falls. It had only been about a week where she started wanting to walk everywhere vs crawl. So cute to watch her walk hand in hand with daddy and Brinley. We also stopped to explore, grass, flowers and sticks that she found on the ground. She loved it!
- started trying to communicate a lot more. Even said her first words besides mama and dadda. She says “dog dog” and “birdie” as well as “brinbree” or “bree bree” for Brinley.
- interacts and plays so much more. Will bring you a book and crawl into your lap to read it. Will give you a hug when you say “give mommy a hug.”

She’s grown up so much in the past month!

She still snuggled and fell asleep a lot on the boat rides though so I still had plenty of moments to still snuggle my baby. Don’t grow up too fast Becca Becks!
