We can also tell that you are getting older as you are truly getting so BIG! At two months you weighed 13 lbs. 10 oz (88 percentile) and are 24.5 inches long (98 percentile)! My milk supply has regulated a bit but we don't doubt you are getting enough to eat.
You eat every 2-3 hours during the day still but have given us some awesome stretches at night. 8-9 hours. We are loving all of the extra sleep!
You've definitely got a set of lungs on you and you let us know when you are mad or hungry. Most of the time you are very happy and content baby but sometimes in the evenings you get pretty fussy. I think it's cause you like to cluster feed at that time but are also pretty tired too.
You also take great naps when we are out and about but don't nap super well at home, probably because mommy doesn't like to put you down. We also want to get you used to sleeping flat so are trying to put you in the crib a bit. We will keep working on that though!
In other news, you have discovered your hands this month and love to suck on them and stare at them. We've had to put mittens on you a few times to keep you from scratching your face but even then you would suck on those. Mommy would playfully scold you and say "stop sucking on your mitten, you naughty little kitten" (like the nursery rhyme).
You're looking awfully cute these days as well. Your baby acne is totally gone and Mommy and Daddy love to tell you how beautiful and perfect you are! Everyone always stops to tell us when we are out how beautiful you are and how well behaved. :)
You love to talk and coo as well and when we put you in your monkey chair you like to talk to the baby in the mirror (you!) it's so cute to watch! Your default expression is one of concentration with your eyebrows furrowed (almost like a scowl) but when we say your name and smile at you, you light right up and flash us a big 'ole grin. It's the cutest thing! You are so, so smiley and we just melt!
We believe that you giggled for the first time a couple of days ago (just after 9 weeks actually) when Nana was talking to you while we were out to dinner. Daddy felt your chest rumble but we didn't actually hear it. Then last night Mommy was talking to you and your happy coos sounded an awful lot like giggles to us, but we shall see.
You're not doing a whole lot of moving at this point, although you like to kick your feet and raise your arms. You really hate tummy time and Mommy isn't great about making you do it so you might be a late roller. Sorry about that!
I think your favorite person right now is Mommy since you and I are with each other 24x7 right now. But you also adore Daddy and your big sister Brinley (who still can't get enough of you!) You light up too when the Grandmas and Grandpas smile at you as well.
Big sister Brinley still loves to sing to you and we have to remind her to be gentle and not try and hug you. You are very tolerant though! She's very cute with you though and calls you "girl, girl, girl" loves to sing "you are my sunshine" and also tell you how darling you are. I hope you two will be the best of friends!
You love to be held and don't like it when we set you down for too long. When I carry you up on my shoulder you love to wrap one little arm around me. It's so sweet! You also love lying on our laps across the Boppy pillow. All stretched out and comfy but still being "held."
When we do put you down you've started to raise your little arms out like you want us to pick you back up. We aren't sure if that's what you are doing but it's pretty sweet either way. :)
In other stats, you wear 3 month clothes but the legs are starting to get a bit short so I think you will be in 6 month sizes in no time. We also moved you up to a size 2 diaper already.
Your reflux thing has pretty much resolved itself but just last night you overate and spit-up all of your food again. Luckily Daddy was home to help as we both needed baths after that one!
As far as nicknames, we still just call you Becca most of the time, but a few favs are the Becca, Becca baby, Bexie, Becks and Mommy's favorite, Ba-due :) (As in Ba do be do be do)
Mommy has also been making up little songs for you, like this one: We love the Becca Baby, the Becca Baby, the Becca Baby.
I've been reading a lot this month about energy profiling from Carol Tuttle and we think you might be a determined energy time like Mama. If that's the case I think we might be in for a wild ride with you, little one! Only time will tell :)
For now though, we are just soaking in all of the baby snuggles and enjoying every day with you! We love you to the moon and back sweet girl!
