Grown-up Getaway to Nashville!

So Matt and I got a chance to escape all of the cold and snow for a few days and go with a couple friend of ours to visit Nashville. I had been there once several years ago for work and then last year on a girls weekend before Melanie's wedding. I adore country music and fell in love with the city. I was very excited to be going with Matt and to my surprise and delight, he fell in love with it as well!

We had a great time hanging out with Raquel and Chris as well. They are an awesome family and we are very grateful for their friendship.

We started our trip with lunch at the Loveless cafe. Their biscuits and jam were so amazing!

Original front door of the cafe

Super famous sign!

Amazing night at the Listening Room cafe where we got to hear this guys, Mitch Rossell. He's incredible! He wrote the song "Ask me how I know" for Garth Brooks. He's such a down to earth guy as well.

Downtown selfies!

Great music and lots of old people dancing at Legends. We had a great time!

Waiting for our tour of the Belle Meade mansion. Such a fun place with lots of rich history. We loved it!

Belle Meade

We imagined carriages coming up here to drop off ladies and gents back in the day

Bullet holes from the civil war. Apparently there was a small skrimish on the front lawn.

Matty found a blues club for dinner. So good!

Matt trying out some local whiskeys, per my encouragement ;)

After drinks we got a tattoo! Ha, just kidding. It was one that I've wanted to get for quite some time. And of course, there's drama around it!

My tattoo artist Jeremy. He thought I was crazy, but that's okay.

The guys looking a bit nerdy with their thumbs up poses, lol!

Downtown, overlooking the river. It was really funny, the bridge had this kind of new age sounding music on it and Matt stopped and said "is this it? Is this when Jesus comes back??" It was hilarious!

Grand ole opry!

Grateful for good friends!
Love my handsome hubby! So nice to get away and spend some quality time with just him. It was just us in the beginning and someday after these crazy kiddos move out of the house it will just be us again. We try and prioritize our marriage as much as we can. It isn't always easy but it's always worth it!
Oh silly Mattie!
Went out for drinks and the best chicken wings ever at this gem of a place, the Nashville Palace! Has an amazing history, including where Randy Travis used to be a cook!
Creeping on the soon to be stars, lol!
