Quick 5 update on B&B

Sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming to do a full blown update, but so much seems to be happening/changing lately that I wanted to take a moment and capture it all.

So I’m going to try and take a moment for what I’m going to call a “quick 5” update. 5 things about what the girls are up to lately.

First, our Becca Becks:
1) Ramping up the communication! She’s using her more, hungry and all done signs all of the time as well as lots of words. She loves to say mama and dadda as well as shoe, sock and sit. She also can make monkey noises and her ooo eee ahah face is the absolute cutest!
2) She loves to find little places to sit, like little chairs, stairs and other little spots. So cute to watch her back in to them.
3) She is super into shoes and socks. Always talks about all the shoes in her closest and insists to wear them as often as we will let her!
4) Very into playing with the baby doll. Putting her to bed, feeding her and in the stroller. She hugs and kisses the baby. It’s the sweetest!
5) Still such a happy girl! She wiggles, giggles and dances as often as she can. We sure do love her!

Brinley Bop:
1) READING! She’s reading site words and sounding things out. Recognizing all of her letters and just making such huge strides there! So impressed with her and proud of her achievements. The best part is seeing how proud she is of herself as well :)
2) She's such an amazing helper with her big sister. Just last night the two were sitting together in the living room for a moment watching a movie together. We also recently switched the upstairs play area over to a room that both girls can share and it is so fun to watch them play and explore together. Brinley is great at looking out for her sister and making sure she's not putting anything in her mouth or climbing on top of the furniture!
3) So imaginative. She is constantly making up creative games, re-arranging the pillows or furniture in the living room to create paths and lava pits. I swear if you put her in a solid white room with some card board boxes and other household items she'd create a world of pirate adventures, or tree forts, or fairy kingdoms. Her imagination is incredible!
4) Learning to be brave. Last week we forgot that it was costume day at dance class and Brinley was really upset. But she didn't want to leave and after a bit of talking to, she put on her brave face, held her head high, and walked into dance class. It was a great lesson in learning to be yourself and be comfortable with being different. Even if you're the only one not in a costume!
5) Super independent. She can get herself a snack, work the TV and Roku, do some chores, help us out when we ask, the transition from preschooler to little girl is definitely in the works. It's been very fun to hear her converse with other adults and share her thoughts on the world. She's so curious and constantly taking everything in, processing it and trying to determine how it works.

You girls continue to amaze your dad and I every day and we are so grateful for the wonderful gifts that God has given us, YOU!
