She's changed a bunch though in this past month and we are beginning to see her personality emerge. She definitely has found her voice these past couple of weeks and lets you know when she's not happy. Mainly she cries when she's hungry or very tired and needs help going to sleep. She does great when we are moving around (walks, car trips, etc.) but isn't napping consistently during the day yet. Nights have been really awesome though and she gives us 3, 4, 5 and one time a 6 hour stretch of sleep. We are working on getting her down for bed earlier (closer to 9 p.m vs. 11 p.m.) so that Mommy doesn't have to sleep until 9 or 10 a.m. every day just to get a full night's sleep. Your fussy time is definitely evenings though... But overall, we have been blessed with a very good and easy baby!
Sweet Becca, you've started to smile more these last couple of weeks too and just this week have begun to coo at us. You really love Daddy and Grandma Ann and always give them lots of smiles. You still have some of the newborn cross-eyed stuff going on so sometimes you look like a little bug when one eye points slightly in the wrong direction but we know this will clear up soon.
Speaking of clearing up, you've been battling some pretty bad newborn acne on your face, head and back of your neck. Mommy felt so bad for you! But it's only lasted about a week and seems to be getting better. It's all of Mommy's hormones leaving your body still after the birth...
You also lost all of the hair on top of your head, just like your sister did when she was born, but it's already starting to grow back. You do look a lot like Brinley as a baby but she favored daddy a bit more and I think you look a bit more like mommy (eyes, cheeks, etc.).
You really like to be held and rocked to sleep (or have your butt patted until you fall asleep), you've started to take a paci more and more and we haven't had very many projectile spitting up episodes since Mommy has been cutting you off the milk when she knows you are full. :)
You like to eat every 2-3 hours during the day but still only eat from one side at a time. We guess though that you take in between 3 and 5 ounces per feeding.
You LOVE your big sister (and she loves you! sometimes too much!!!), she comes up to you saying "girl, girl, girl, you are such a darling!" She also loves to sing you songs when you are upset and you always stop crying and listen to her. I hope someday that you two can be the best of friends!
You've really been Mama's little buddy and we are together almost all the time. Daddy loves cuddling with you too and always says how cute you are.
As far as stats, you are definitely closet to ll lbs now, still wearing a size 1 diaper (but probably not for much longer) and already into 3 months clothes. In fact you only wore newborn diapers and newborn clothes for about a week after you were born because you were so big! (In fact most of the newborn stuff was too small even then but I really wanted to see them on you.)
As far as nicknames, the only one that's stuck so far is squirts. You like to save up all of your poo and then squirt away, lol! Sometimes pooping every other day. Hopefully we will have better nicknames for you soon! (Ones we are throwing around are Becca Boo and Becca Bunny).
We do call you Becks, Bexie Baby and Baby Becca a lot though. :)
We've decided your color is mint green and your animal will be an elephant (your big sister's color is purple and her animal was the monkey). I also have several special outfits that are just yours, but a lot of what you wear is hand me downs from your sister or our friends Ali and Josie. You have TONS of clothes though, more than you will ever need!
In other big news, you have a passport already (we applied for it within two weeks of you being born) since we are going to Mexico as a family in November.
